Here's what you need to do to enter our Aspiring Student Chef 2023-2024 cookery competition:

ASPIRING STUDENT CHEFS – Ages 11-13  |  14-16  |  16-18.

A life changing experience for aspiring student chefs to compete in a national inter-college/school cook off, judged by an elite panel of professional chefs, and a chance to win great prizes. The experience will also provide an insight into career opportunities in catering, with the option for the winning students to take up a three year Specialised Chefs Scholarship (subject to age).​

 

GUIDELINES:

Your entry should:

> demonstrate a knowledge of flavours and textures

> showcase as many skills as possible

> demonstrate an awareness of nutritional balance

> take no more than 90 minutes to prepare

> be presented as a full meal (you will need to plate up two dishes - one for photography, one for judging) 

> utilise the maximum amount of time

> consider the amount of oil & fats used in the dish

> minimal wastage of ingredients

> consider the seasonality of the National Final when choosing ingredients.

 

Also, you must:

write a bit about yourself and why you chose your dish, together with a photo of the finished dish.

The finals will be held on Friday 26th January 2024 at Bournemouth & Poole College.
