Aspiring Student Chefs (Ages 11-13  |  14-16  |  16-18)

WHERE TO START:

Submit a signature main course for your chance to be selected for the National Final of the ICG Competition.

Your recipe must be a signature recipe that showcases your skills and creativity.

YOUR CHANCE TO WIN:

Are you ready to showcase the skills you’ve learnt in a competitive environment?

A life changing experience for aspiring student chefs to compete in a national inter-college/school cook off judged by an elite panel of professional chefs and to win great prizes.

 

The experience will also provide an insight into career opportunities in catering, with the option to take up a three year Specialised Chefs Scholarship subject to your age.

Finalists’ schedule (to be confirmed):

  • Observation test 

  • Fish dish challenge

  • Cook main course dish

WINNERS PRIZE:

Ages 11-13 & 14-16:

Ages 16-18:

  • Up to £1000 worth of cooking equipment for their college/school* 

  • A cash prize of £500

  • The option to take up a three year Specialised Chefs Scholarship with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts at Bournemouth & Poole College subject to your age.

 

RUNNER-UP PRIZES:

Each finalist will receive a cookware bundle on behalf of our sponsors.

NATIONAL FINAL:

The national cook off will take place at:

Bournemouth & Poole College on Friday 29th January 2021 for the Aspiring Student Chefs aged 16-18.

Waitrose Cookery School, Finchley Road, London on Wednesday 27th January 2021 for the Aspiring Student Chefs aged 11-13 and 14-16.
